Frequently Asked Questions
I’m a big fan of Broadway! Can I attend too?
For now, we are asking fans to leave space for those in the community but we will have resources on our website soon about ways you can show up as an ally.
Do you have to be in the industry already or is this an “open to all” event?
This event is open to all current and aspiring members of the theatre industry, from New York and across the country.
What is the Broadway Advocacy Coalition?
The Broadway Advocacy Coalition formed in 2016 as an immediate response to our nation’s most deadly pandemic. The virus that enables police brutality, inequality in the workplace, and disproportionate representation in positions of power: racism.
Several Broadway actors committed their time to understand their role as #Artivist and the ways that storytelling and narrative in the arts and media shape policy. Since our inaugural event - the Broadway for Black Lives Matter concert - we’ve created a methodology of transformational collaboration that is now taught at Columbia Law School and mobilized in several advocacy organizations across New York City.
I’ve signed up! How else can I support?
Donate! Broadway Advocacy Coalition is a growing organization and needs resources to continue this work and our other work focused around the systems linked to mass incarceration.
We’d also love your help getting industry folks to our event. Registration is now live on the site.
Will there be online access?
Yes, this is an online event! Prior to the event you will receive instructions on how to join.
Will I be able to join late?
While we strongly prefer you attend the entirety of the event, we understand that certain obligations cannot be moved so late access will be possible.
I will not be able to watch all of one night - Will it be recorded and available to watch later?
While it is unlikely that the whole event will be released online afterwards, we do plan to release certain sections of the event online at a later date.
Can I help and get involved behind the scenes?
At this time, we are fully staffed but appreciate your support. We just need your help spreading the word.
